What is on – Week 16

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

As Monday is the last day of formal classes for our Year 12 students, we are looking forward to giving them a great send off at the Year 12 Farewell Assembly (student only event).

Over the last few weeks I’ve spoken to many students about their future plans. I’ve been both impressed and excited for them! For example one of our female student leaders has been accepted into the Royal Australian Air Force to become a pilot. Another student is preparing for audition at the NSW Conservatorium of Music. Others are heading off to university or other studies and some are moving directly into the workforce. Other students are planning to take a break from study in the form of a gap year – to travel, see the world and have some timeout before entering into post school work or study.

Please remember to consider the intensity of test week on our students this coming week and know that support is always available at our college. Talking to their teachers and Connect teacher is always the first option. We also have a substantial wellbeing team including House Cos, School Psychologists, the Inclusion Support team, a Defence Transition Mentor and a Youth Support Worker.

There are also services such as Headspace (1800 650 890), Lifeline (13 11 14), ReachOut and Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636).

We are all looking forward to the fun and glamour of the Formal next Thursday 23 November. Then, on Wednesday 13 December we will officially farewell our Year 12 students at Graduation! These are special times.

Heather

TEST WEEK

Disruption Free Period continues until Monday 13 November. Tests will then be conducted Tuesday 14–Friday 17 November (Test Week) with an alternative Test Week Timetable running throughout this period.

Please ensure that students do not have external appointments during College hours as this is a time when tests are occurring and assessments may be due.

ABSENCES

Students must have all absences explained by Monday 13 November. Absences that appear as ‘A’ in Appsence are considered unexplained. Any absences not cleared by this date will be classed as unexplained and may jeopardise the successful completion of a unit.

LAST DAY FOR SUBMISSION OF SEMESTER 2 WORK

Students must submit any and all outstanding work for Semester 2 by Friday 17 November. No extensions can be considered past this date. Students who have not submitted 70% of the total assessment for any unit will receive a V grade for the unit and thus the unit will not count towards certificate requirements.

EXAM SUPPORT

Any students requiring special provisions in the upcoming exams should contact Angela Ward via Schoology or visit the Inclusion Support staff in H0.29 so that we can arrange the assistance they need.
