Australian Science Olympiad Exams Success!

Australian Science Olympiad Exams Success!

Earlier this year, three Year 11 students sat the Australian Science Olympiad Exams.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • Max Williams: High Distinction in Physics Olympiad
  • Caitlin Gare: Distinction in both Chemistry Olympiad and Biology Olympiad
  • Miranda James: Credit in Earth and Environmental Science Olympiad

Further congratulations goes to Max Williams who has been selected to attend the elite Australian Science Olympiad Summer School held at the Australian National University (ANU) in January 2018. Max achieved an outstanding performance in the competitive qualifying exam in August, in which over 6,000 students registered to take part. He will join other highly capable science students at this intensive residential program, working hard to secure a spot in representing Australia at the 2018 International Science Olympiads. Students will live on the ANU campus from 5–21 January and have access to lecturers, tutors, laboratories and support staff to help hone their theoretical and practical science skills. During this rigorous program students learn the equivalent of a first-year university course in Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science or Physics.
