YEAR 12 AST TRIAL

All Year 12 students who intend to sit the AST in order to obtain an ATAR are required to sit practice AST examinations on these dates. Students will sit three papers over two days.

Monday 19 June

  • Multiple Choice Exam: 8.30–11.30am
  • Short Response Exam: 12.30–3.00pm

Tuesday 20 June

  • Writing Task: 8.30am–12.00pm

Students should gather and bring an AST equipment package in a small clear plastic bag. This should include pens, 2B pencils, small ruler, and ruler. Students should also bring a dictionary (which can not include a thesaurus) and a clear, unlabeled water bottle.

Absences must be explained with medical documentation.

This is the final chance students will have to take part in a trial before the AST in September.

FEEDBACK DAY

All students are to attend Feedback Day on Wednesday 22 June where assessment items are returned to students with feedback. This is the last opportunity students have to double check marks on assessment items before they are processed.

  • Line B: 10.00–10.30am
  • Line C: 10.30–11.00am

UNIT SCORES POSTED

Unit scores are posted in faculty areas on Friday 23 June at 12.00pm. Students are expected to check their unit scores to ensure they are consistent with marks provided on their assessment items.

CLASS CHANGES FOR SEMESTER 2

Class changes should not be necessary at this time of year unless students intend on changing package types. If students feel they need to change a class for Semester 2, they should start the process with a discussion with their Connect teacher.

VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS – PAYMENT

Family transaction statements have been sent out throughout the semester. If you require another copy, please email the College on gungahlincollege@ed.act.edu.au. Please see the 2017 Voluntary Contributions form for more information.

STUDENT WELLBEING

If students are struggling to cope, talking to their teachers and Connect teacher is always the first option. We also have a substantial wellbeing team at the College including House Co’s, Defence Transition Mentor, Youth Support Worker and a School Psychologist. There are also services such as Headspace (1800 650 890), Lifeline (13 11 14) and Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636) that can be contacted.

CHANGE OF CONTACT DETAILS

Please remember to let the front office staff know immediately if your contact details (home address, phone number or email address) have changed, or if your family situation has changed. In the event of an emergency with your young person at the College, it is critical that our records are up to date so that we can reach you quickly. Please email gungahlincollege@ed.act.edu.au with any updated contact information.
