Fame – Tickets on Sale Now!
Gungahlin College is excited to present “Fame” the musical, by David De Silva. This production combines the use of innovative sets, evocative music, exciting dance numbers and a cast and crew of 65 Year 11 and 12 students.
Fame, the musical is set in New York City, in the old High School of Performing Arts Building on the 46th Street East of Broadway; just off Times Square, during the years of 1980-1984. It concerns the last group of students and teachers to inhabit this grand, historic (some might say ancient) edifice, following them on a four-year journey from freshman term through to graduation.
Many people are familiar with the film “Fame”, however the musical allows the audience to see a different perspective. “Fame” provides an exuberant and uplifting change of pace after last year’s production of Shakespeare’s tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”. The students of Gungahlin College have been working hard throughout the year as they will be performing ‘There She Goes/Fame’ at the Step into the Limelight Gala Showcase on the 28th and 29th of August.
Gungahlin College staff and students are very proud to invite all Gungahlin residents to see the College’s 2nd major musical production performed by Year 11 and 12 students.
